Running Biomechanics Half Marathon Clinic Study

Who can participate?

Recruitment for the current running clinic has closed. For future clinics of this nature, we are recruiting women between the ages of 18 – 60. You must have been running for 3 months prior to study commencement and have participated in 2 or fewer half marathons previously. You must also have been free from any ankle, knee, hip, or back injuries in the previous three months and have no history of ankle, knee, or hip joint surgery.

What is required?

You will be required to attend two biomechanical assessments (approximately 1 hour each) at Fortius Sport & Health in Burnaby. These will take place before and during the final week of a 15-week half marathon training program. You are also required to participate in a 15-week half marathon clinic held out of Fortius Sport & Health (two group sessions/week and two individual runs/week). The next clinic will be training for the Victoria Half Marathon (October 11th, 2015) and Rock ’n’ Roll Half Marathon (October 25th, 2015). The clinic will commence the week of June 29th for both of these races. During the clinic, you will be asked to fill out a short online weekly questionnaire regarding injury status and running completed during that week.
